JWT chip - high and low octane maps are exactly the same, so if knock is found the ecu reverts from the high map to the low map. Since the maps are the same no safety is provided. Ash chip - high and low octane maps are different, setup like the stock ecu so when knock is detected it will revert to the low octane map and increase the amount of fuel and takes away timing.
Also the Ash chip has been proven to provide more power in both TT and NA. I cant force you to buy either one but the safety of the maps should be a major factor in the decision.
